Mom's Famous Chicken Marinade Recipe

My mom used to make this chicken all the time, and I always loved it. Now what I love about this recipe is I always think of her when I make it and as a mom myself is that the longer the chicken marinades, the better it is! So if dinner plans change or you have a busy week, you can make it and use it any night. I would let it marinade for at least 24 hours, but it's even better if it's longer!

Below is the original recipe from my mom. My parents kept it taped up inside the cabinet door in their kitchen because they made it so much.

I love that the ingredients are all things you probably have in your pantry, so if you're like me and don't always plan ahead, you can whip it up pretty quickly.

You just have to mix the following ingredients together:

- 6 tbsp. of olive oil

- 4 tbsp. apple cider vinegar

- 4 tbsp. lemon juice (it's better with fresh lemon juice, but you could use that Realemon if you're in a pinch)

- 3 cloves of garlic (I tend to go heavy on the garlic, so it's more like 5-6 cloves for me because you can never have too much garlic!)

- 1/2 cup brown sugar

- 1/2 tsp. salt (I like Real Salt)

- 3 tbsp. grainy mustard

Then pour into a large ziploc bag with the chicken. (This recipe works for 4-6 chicken breasts, so if you're cooking for a large group, you may want to double or triple the marinade recipe.)

I think it's best grilled on the grill, but you can also bake it in the oven or gill on a grill pan if grilling isn't in the cards that day.

Here's the finished product... YUM!!!
