Doom, the comic book

What? A comic book about Doom? The game where the plot was "Here, you've got a gun, blow things up & save the world"?

Yes. There is.

And it's about as awesome as you might expect - which is to say, completely & totally terrible.

Warning: Comic may cause brain damage. Do not operate heavy machinery for at least three hours after reading the comic.

Russ... oh my gosh... that was amazing...

I think there were times when I originally played the game that I had something very similar to that monologue in my head. I read all 16 pages and I'm sad that it's over...

That comic was a waste of time.

May I also take this moment to comment on my favorite move in Doom (shareware trial version) that I'm sure everyone has tried--getting one of those barrels between you and an enemy, but sufficiently far enough away that the enemy fires at you, hits the barrel instead (because he's just software and doing what he was programmed to do), blowing it up, and turning himself into a crackling pink pile of flesh.
