My cell phone is dying. Actually, it's been dying for 2-3 months now, I've just put up with it. Now, the LCD is so badly cracked as to be nearly unreadable.
My US Cellular contract is up, so I'm just on a "month to month" basis... when I stop paying, they stop providing cell phone service (basically).
I'm paying $40/mo or so for unlimited nights & weekends, and 300 anytime minutes, regional.
My options:
A. Replace the phone with one off eBay, reprogram it to match my phone's settings, and continue as is.
B. Get a new cell phone plan, hopefully cheaper, and with it a new phone.
C. Give up on having a cell phone, and be basically unreachable.
Suggestions? I'm thinking A, but C is a good option too...

Posted by rgraves at November 8, 2004 11:55 PMI would go with B personally, but that is because a cell phone is nearly a necessary tool of the trade.
for $40, I'm fairly certain you can get a much better verizon plan.
But C is always appealing as well. Especially since you are online so much, its not hard to reach you.
Posted by: matt at November 9, 2004 02:18 PMI agree with Matt on option B...you can usually get some kind of phone free from verizon, probably more minutes for the same price, and from what I've heard they make it pretty easy for you to switch phone numbers if you move...
Posted by: kirsten at November 9, 2004 05:20 PMI definitely have to suggest you lose the cellphone. It's not like you NEED it to live or anything.
