Black Bird Singing in the Dead of Night
Hey guys, first off, thanks to all of you who made comments! Now my Mom thinks I am really popular. Little does she know that I pay you guys to be my friends…
Anyway, usually I won’t use my blog to rant and rave about things, but this time it’s just gone too far. That’s right, the crows have gone too far. Now anyone who lives on or near the Iowa state campus knows what I am talking about. That sudden chill that runs down your spine whenever a crow opens its big fat beak and you see it flying overhead. And what’s that you hear? Is it rain? Oh, no, that is the sound of a succession of crows pooping on the sidewalk and you praying and running as fast you can to get out of there.
So on to the story. Last Friday, as my poor innocent roommate Angie was walking to “the Rock”, simply honoring God with her time, as she was suddenly crapped on by a crow flying overhead. Now Angie had always wondered if she ever did get pooped on by a crow, if she would be able to feel it, and as far as she has communicated to me, she does not wonder any longer. This poop on her head was so bad that her poor boyfriend Jeff had to wipe it off with a leaf. (Brownie Points for Jeff!)
Now, you say, what a sad story right? We are just going to have to live with the crows colorful confetti poop on our heads (and cars by the way)? But lo! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the Iowa State crow hunting team to the rescue! That’s right, the university pays this official organization to hunt crows. And not only that, they are now known by campuses all over the U.S. thanks to a recent article in the Sports Illustrated, campus edition (distributed in campus newspapers all over the country). Don’t worry Angie, you’ll get your revenge! Last crow hunt? 13 down, 50 billion to go.

I almost got nailed by a seagull outside of mcdonalds last month. Those things can hold a lot of fluid. It was like getting attacked by white, nasty napalm.
