Speed Up?
Well the speed limit on Iowa interstates will now be 70mph instead of 65. Vilsack signed the bill and now we get to go from an average of 69.8 miles an hour to probably over 75.
"If there's someone who says, 'Great, the speed limit has gone up to 70, so now I can go 75' -- that would be a mistake," the governor said.Officials have said motorists largely ignore the state's current 65 mph speed limit. Vilsack said he was told the average speed is 69.8 mph.
That won't be the case with the new speed limit, he said.
Having laws that aren't enforced only undermines respect for the law.
From the ISU Daily
I guess this is good news for Mike Biang who follows the speed limit.
How fast will I go? I'll have to think about that one.

Vilsak has it all wrong. Now I can go 79 through Minnesota AND Iowa! And that's no mistake.

Did you have to mention mike's name? His convictions are kind of a point of embarrassment hear in Illinois were even the cops go 15 mph over the limit.

I will continue to go 75. The old people will continue to go 60. The difference is that I have been vindicated by the law.
