Digital Prints
So anybody know the best place to get digital pictures developed?
Surfing online has brought me the regular places: (all sized at 4x6)
Walmart $0.17
Target $0.25
Walgreens $0.29
And some others:
Kodakgallery.com $0.25
Shutterfly.com $0.19-0.25 (whatever that means)
and finally:
photocheap.biz at an amazing advertized $0.108
(though it is with a prepaid plan. regular prints are $0.14)
So it seems as if Walmart wins again. But are their pics the best quality? I need some experience here from you who have owned and printed from a digicam.

Wow, walmart must have dropped their price...when I got some printed there at xmas time, I was paying 24 cents each.
I have been pretty pleased with the quality from Wal-Mart. I have also gotten some printed at hy-vee, and I think I maybe paid 28 cents each there. As I recall, I don't think I liked the hy-vee ones as well. All the ones I got printed I gave away as xmas gifts, so I can't go back to look.
One "word to the wise" -- at wal-mart (at least if you bring your files into the store, I don't know about submitting them online), the machine will get messed up if any of your pics have the extension spelled .jpeg instead of .jpg. I had a set of prints that apparently submitted okay, but would never print and the clerks couldn't figure out why...long story short, I think that was the problem.
I might check out that photocheap, biz one...I'll let you know how it turns out if I do!

I've used Walgreens and been pleased with the result.

I did a 8x10 b&w Lone Strangers press photo at WalMart and it turned out great. For what it's worth. You don't have to leave your house, and they email you when the prints are ready.
