I think that God does something special in early morning sunlight. There was just a magic in the air this morning as I walked through the wet grassy capret. There was a stillness a quietness of the soul that refreshes and encourages.
The heavens tell of the glory of God.
The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or a word;
their voice is silent in the skies;
yet their message has gone out to all the earth,
and their words to all the world.

I think that morning is my favorite time of day. How in the world could you hate the morning? Someone give me justification for their dislike of mornings.

brother, i think i agree with you. so why is it, that during this time of the day, our minds seem to be more foggy than any other, despite the glory around us?
I've never really thought about this b'fore, but it's got to be one more piece of evidence towards the nasty spiritual battle, and satan trying to steal our hearts away, before we even think to fight back.

I'm not a morning person, but early morning is my favorite part of the day too.
I've often wondered, the Jewish day begins at sunset. What does that say about their mindset compared to ours?

Psalm 57: 8-10 -- "Awake my soul! Awake harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies."
David wrote that when he was in the Cave of Adullam, hiding from Saul. He had just gone through the lowest point of his life, pretending to be insane in Gath. He had just discovered he wasn't all that and the bag of chips he thought he was.
In his "cave experience" he learned to lean on the Lord. In these verses, he emerges from the cave and looks upon the night sky as it turns to morning, concluding that God's love is seen in the starry heavens, points of love and light in the darkness. His faithfulness is seen in the sun's rising every day in the skies above us a sign that he is with us.

thats the thing jules, my mind isn't foggy in the morning. But it still takes discipline to place my thoughts on God first thing.
Dan, good thoughts. It is amazing the number of things that we can learn from a misfit sinner like David.

Morning...The day is new, we haven't had a chamce to let all the junk in our lives distance us from God. If I don't go to God then, with that fresh longing for Him, I rarely get to make it up later in the day.

I think that some of my favorite times with God is in the morning, with a cup of coffee, outside...
