A Superficial Glut of Meaningless Drivel vol. 2
I don't like getting emails from the all rock list that say "I got a new cell phone". It makes more sense to me that the person just email everyone in their personal email list and then post it on the rock web site. Because really, if I have someone’s cell phone programmed into my phone then I am probably on his/her personal email list. If I don’t have his/her number programmed in then I probably don’t call or email them and don’t get calls or emails from them.
BTW Angie F just got a cell phone and I think that hell (as well as florida) just froze over... whats next Pat Blair getting a cell phone? Unlikely!
Doesn't Dave Powers have about 4 cell phones?

I hate when people at the Rock send out mass emails about helping them move on a wintery saturday morning. Not only do I not help, but I block there address!
Call me a heartless, selfish bastard, but in my view you are doing everyone a favor by moving your stuff by yourself. It's ok to call on 2 or 3 people to help you move some heavy stuff, but the whoe church doesn't have to come running to your aid just because...

Actually, Paul, I've had a cell phone before. I had it from the fall of 1999 until the spring of 2001. I cancelled it for a number of reasons, one of which not having a real necessity for it. I have, nor will I ever be opposed to cell phones. I was not a hold out, or a cheapskate. I loved my phone, and I love my new phone even more. Don't dismay, hell and quite possibly Florida are still warm-weather attractions.
(oh, and I decided not to send out an e-mail, I've merely been telling people in person, or calling them on my phone. And, I debut on the new Rock phone list...keep your eyes peeled!)

Hey, I will probably get a cell phone someday. It's just that right now I can't justify paying for one, because there are better things to spend my money on - like the new Janet Jackson CD. I can be reached all day long via email, and if you leave a message at my house, I will probably get back to you within the day, as well.
I just don't see a need for people to be able to get ahold of me 24-7. In fact, I really don't like people that much, so why would I make myself available? If anyone feels differently, they can contribute to the "buy Pat a cel phone" fund, but I'm not throwing up $50/month of my own money.

I am a cheapskate, and I too hate mass emails to the entire Rockisu.com list.
