I have no idea why this stuff happens to me...
maybe it is because someone up there knows that I have a blog and I will tell people about it. :) Either way, I had this blog written in my mind last night around 10pm!
So, last night we were in bed about to go to sleep and I got up to get another pillow. Our windows were open and I thought to myself "What is that smell? It smells a little like a skunk outside... hmm." As I crawled back into bed I asked Jason if he could smell it and he said, "A little." (Ps. We have two fans in our room. A ceiling fan and another smaller one that my genius husband rigged up to push the hot air out and cool air will then come in. I didn't realize until last night how fast something will move through that small 10x12 room!)
A moment later I'm almost dozing and Jason says to me: "It's getting stronger." I roll over from having my head burried between my pillows and right away start coughing and gagging. In a matter of 10 seconds my nose and throat are both burning and I'm back to having my head burried under my pillows. Every few minutes I resurface to see if things are better, but they are not. Jason finally shut the windows but I wasn't convinced that was going to work since it had permiated our room. (Yes, all the windows downstairs were open as well). As my head is buried I hear my hubby get out of bed and before I know it he is spraying down our room with the bathroom air freshner spray. Oh my. Now we have our nostrils and throats burning with skunk smell covered with the fake "fresh air" smell. I ask Jason what we are going to do. Know what he said?
"Guess we will just have to wash everything in tomato juice."
Oh right. Why didn't I think of that. The carpet, all our bedding, our entire closets full of clothes, the mattresses, and while we are at it, we should probably wash down the walls as well. Oh my GOSH! I was pretty sure I wasn't going to sleep wondering what in the world we would have to do to our house in the morning.
However, I'm praising the Lord today that there is no remainig evidence of the little critter that....welll you know... did his thing somewhere near our front lawn. And I"m also thankful that every other time in my life that I have smelled a skunk I was in a car and was able to "run away" after just a few annoying minutes. I don't think I will ever complain again when driving past a skunk because I will remember the night I was burried under my pillows praying to the Lord for little things.... like .... air.

I actually don't mind the smell of skunk. I definitely would not want to have it "on" me or within extremely close proximity, but a mild to moderate skunk smell doesn't bother me at all.
I realize this is weird.

What other things are you praising the Lord for?

The weirdest things really do happen to you.
And Alicia, for some reason it doesn't surprise me that the smell doesn't bother you.
