All in a days work...
My... it has been a while. Well, let me fill you in on our newest adventure at the Rohlf household. Belle is noticing the "potty". I know that I wrote an entire blog about how I don't like that word, but it has stuck around here and I think I am just going to have to get over it. Anyway, she now says "potty" when she walks by the bathroom and she points and says "per-per" (diaper) when she is going #2. So, I decided last week to get a potty chair so we have it when she is ready to start toilet training. She turned 17 months today, so a lot of people were telling me that it was too early, but I figured I would buy it and see what happened from there. We brought it home from Walmart and I got it out of the box to make sure it had everything that I was looking for. It did. Then I showed it to Belle and said "potty" and she got very excited. I put it on the kitchen floor and let her sit on it fully clothed. She had a blast! She kept gettng up and walking away and then wanting to get back on it again. A few minutes later she was pulling up her shirt and saying "off" and standing next to the potty. So I decided to try this for the first time and took off her pants and diaper so she could really sit on the potty! Again, I think this was the higlight of her week. She sat there for 10 minutes! (A long time with a toddler) About the time she started getting ready to get off, I realized that I didn't have a dry diaper down here, so I told her to stay and ran upstairs for a new diaper. As I am coming down the steps I hear, "patter, patter, patter" and glance into the kitchen to see my child streaking across the kitchen. I proceed to pull out the mom voice and say , "Isabelle Marie! Get over here...." As I look down into the potty I realize that she has went #2 ! I could hardly believe it! I open the cabinet door to get the camera and squat down and turn around to take a picture (because no one is going to believe me!) and my adorable daughter is holding a fistfull of poop about 3" from my face! *Insert scream here!* She hears me yelling and starts to cry and proceeds to throw the poop onto the floor. (Remember she is still without a diaper and int he kitchen now with poop on her hands). I wasn't sure where to start. With the hands or the diaper... either way could be a disaster. I quickly grab her and hold her up to the sink and get her cleaned off and then get the diaper on. WHEW! We survived. However, she is still quite interested in this dark stuff on the floor. I realized that she probably hasn't seen much of this before as she us always laying down while we change her. Anyway, it made for quite the photo shoot. I hope you enjoy this picture below as much as we have! And no, we haven't tried potty training again since then (due to the construction in the basement) but I do plan to try again in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more stories!

Here comes the bride...
and the screaming flowergirl! Well, it is official... Belle does NOT enjoy her flowergirl dress! I had this brilliant idea to have her try on her dress once a week. But then it was so nice last nice that I decided to let her wear it outside! She LOVES to be 'side so I thought it was a win win situation. However, I quickly realized that she didn't like the grass. Apparently she forgot that she went barefoot in the grass last fall and decided that she wasn't about to walk on it last night! So, I have a 1 year old on my hands who keeps saying "off" and pulling on her dress. Then we get outside and she forgets the dress but refuses to leave the deck area, but wants to go to the swing set and lets me know it! She is yelling from the step and pointing and I keep showing her (by getting down on the grass on my bare feet ) that the grass is our friend! :) Oh my. Here is a little picture show of our first 10 minutes outside. She eventually did walk on the grass while holding my hand because she wanted to swing so bad. But it took a while! However, at the end of the evening, she ended up wearing the dress for 30 minutes without screaming and managed to survive the grass in the backyard! Whew!
This is after the first time she put her foot down and realized the grass was scratchy.

Then she was imitating mom and touching the grass to know it wasn't going to bite her!

And this is after she tried to walk on in the first time! She kept hiking up her dress to make sure her feet were ok!

I love you puddi'n head! And I am so glad you faced your fears last night! Love, Mom

Pappa, Momma & Baby Bear
The topic of toothpaste comes up a lot around our house. Maybe it is because Jason and I usually end up brushing our teeth around the same time each night so we both see how much toothpaste the other one uses. He goes very light- I often wonder if it even cleans his teeth or if his mouth can get sudsy with the little bit that he uses. He tells me it does. I, on the other hand load my brush up!

Maybe it is because I have seen too many commericals with the entire brush covered so I feel like my teeth won't be cleaned unless I dump it on. Or maybe that is just marketing to get me to use more toothpaste faster so I have to buy more. I am not sure. Jason asked me how many cavities I had the other night to which I replied, "None." He said he had two, but they were not his fault as they were deep inside his molars. Not sure how that happened, but it was a long time ago. He also got a "perfect" from the dentist the last time he went. (Well, besides the flossing thing) And here comes Belle right behind us- I don't put toothpaste on her brush yet, but when the time comes for mom and dad to help her, we are both going to do it differently. Oh well, I am sure this is not going to be the first thing!

Ye'r Pretty...
Wanna know what makes me laugh? Sonic commercials! There is one in particular that has stuck around our house. *Note- this is just what I remember of the commercial... I'm sure there was more to it.*
It starts out with this guy and his wife/girlfriend and they are ordering a dessert. The wife states:
"I woke up this morning and something inside me told me that I really wanted ____" (I can't even remember the dessert!)
Husband, "Oh, did you wake up this morning and something inside you told you to wear that vest?"
Wife: *Blinks and looks at her man*
Pause.
Husband: "You're pretty."
Dude! I love it! And you can guess what part happens around our house? Just last week I think I got told that I was pretty 2 or 3 times! Now my husband doesn't usually speak before thinking very often, but if he gets on a roll, MAN... I am told I am B-E-A-UTIFUL by the end of the week. :) Most of the time he is kidding and we laugh it off... yeah, I hope it stays that way. ;)
