First comes love, then comes...MR. & MRS. SOKOLL!

Congrats to my "little" "big" brother who found himself engaged last night to the lovely Ms. Jade Kvach! I think they are rivaling Robert and Jessica's 5- weeks of courting... but ya know, they have been friends for 7 years!

You should ask them the story of how he asked her.... he is pretty smooth! :)

Yeah for weddings!

R.S.V.P.

Ah, a point of confusion for my little mind. I think about this question every time I see the "please rsvp to..." on a wedding, bridal shower or baby shower invite. Anybody actually know what that means? Does it mean, please contact us if you are coming or please contact us either way. I have no idea. I have this mental battle each time I can not go to something because I wonder if they want me to call and say that I am not coming. But on the other hand, I would assume they would have a master list of who they invited so those who said yes would come and the rest of us (left wondering if we should make the call) are probably not going to show up. Is it a matter of preference or is there an etiquitte (i just spent 4 minutes on dictionary.com trying to figure out how to spell that one! ) that I just don't know of?

Please advise.

Pigtails & Toothbrushes...

Today we tried the all out pigtails and they worked pretty well. I think she is adorable, but I know I am her mother! Another one of Belle's favorite activities is to brush her teeth. Actually she just sucks on the toothbrush and drools cause she hasn't figured out how to close her lips around the brush. She comes in when I am doing my hair in the morning and points to her teeth and grunts a little bit. I rinse her toothbrush and hand it to her. She then proceeds to brush the side of the toilet with her toothbrush until I catch her and we have to rinse it again and put it away. I would like to take this moment and point out that I am not the germ freak everyone thinks I am. A true germ freak would boil the toothbrush or thow it away. However, at our house, she has been doing this for days and we are still using the same green tootbrush! Anywa, I digress.

We are excited about spring around here!

The 'Green Giant' is dead.

We put an offer on the house yesterday and the seller's came back today and rejected it flat out. No counter offer or anthing. They said we offered too low and they didn't like the fact that we were selling our house by owner and not listing it with a real estate agent. I think Jason and I are both ok with it right now. We had been praying that God would either open doors or slam them shut and I think we would both call this a slam in the face! Who knows what other things he has in store for us. Right now it is finishing off our basement and figuring out the mess with the rental unit with the "we finished the basement without getting a permit from the City of Iowa City". Yeah, the old owners didn't do things correctly and we have to get it all cleared up with permits and fees and any repairs the city might want us to make. Bummer man. Lesson learned... always double check to see if you need permits to do construction to your house.

Peace.

On a scale of 1-10... how ugly is this color green?

To make a long story short, Jason and I are pursing a long shot and putting an offer in on this house tomorrow. It is in Coralville and my dad found it a few weeks back. It was built in the 1960's and it is a doozie! It is a very large house, but has a lot of things that could be changed. It comes with a teal countertop in the master bath and a baby blue tub and matching sink in the main bath. There are about 14 things that would need to fall into place for this to all work out, but God has opened a few doors and we are going to pursue this to see if it is what he has for us right now. If ya'll live in IC or Coralville, you can see this puppy from 1-80 between exits 144 and 146. It is on the north side of the interstate and you can't miss the bright green house on top of the hill! You can't see it in this picture, but on parts of the house on the outside they painted some of the siding sea green right on top of the this green. I have no idea what color to even call it. Anyway, I will let you know how this all goes.. don't forget to rate the color! :)

Nothing like a few inches of dirty toilet water to say good morning!

Yes, so this morning our toilet overflowed. And it wasn't just water either. I am not sure what makes the difference when the toilet will just fill up to the top and then stop or when it is gushing over. Either way, it grosses me out. It was o-dark-thirty this morning and I found myself standing in nastified toilet water. You know what I did? Well at first I was completely honked off and very short with Jason as he was bringing me towels and such. But then I got it all cleaned up and I cried! Seriously. I am not sure why that fixed the problem, but it did. Well, at least on my part.

One time as a little kid the toilet overflowed on my brother and he was pretty terrified of toilets for a long time. They didn't really both me though until today. Bummer.

A good toilet un-clogging solution from my dad... if you don't want to use the plunger, pour 5- gallong buckets of steaming hot water down the toilet. That'll loosen any clog!

Flicking, wiping and smearing...

Apparently, it comes natural.

I was feeding Belle breadfast this morning and she had some strawberry residue left on her fingers from the frosted mini wheats. She held out her hand and grunted a little bit and I understood that she wanted me to wipe off her hand. However, I figured that since we had just started breakfast we would wait until she was done. I told her as much and she proceeded to look at her hand and then look at the table. She then streched out her arm as far as it could go and smeared the remaining strawberry stuff in a streak all down the side of the table! I thought, "We didn't teach you that!" I was about to say something to her when it reminded me of the following story.

A few years back we were in a leader's meeting at the Abdos house on a Sunday morning. Everyone was sitting in chairs in a circle, but I had opted for the floor. I was streched out on my stomach listening intently when I heard some sort of wizzing noise as something small flew by my ear. I found out quicly that there was a certain ball of something on the carpet right in front of me. "No!" I thought, "That isn't what I think it is..." But yes, it was a certain someone's nose boogie. I couldn't believe it! I turned around slowly and found the culprit. I pointed to the floor and looked at him and he started laughing! (Yes, I know you are still out there, but I will keep this a secret if you want to!) Anyway, he didn't think that him picking something from his nose and flicking across the floor would bother anyone, but I guess he forgot that I was on the floor right next to his chair! AAAHHH! I got over it though. I think I had actually forgot about it until this morning. Remember all those nasty desk chairs in high school? You would reach down and move your chair only to be greeted by some ball of nasty? Icky. I am wondering... if adults still flick, wipe and smear...is there any hope for our kids? :)
