I feel like Rainbow Bright...
My sister and I learned how to foil highlights and lowlights from our friend Mrs. Windham. We both had her help us with our hair a few weeks back. I had low lights put in, they were supposed to be red, but they are more like purple. However, they aren't all that noticiable if you didn't know that I did it. Then yesterday, Elizabeth and I foiled my mom and put her highlights in for their vacation to Haiwii and they turned out great! We had extra color left, so I did a few more highlights in Elizabeth's hair and then she did them all over my head. So now I have copper and red in my hair. Way exciting. I am still not sure these are the exact colors that I wanted, but I am more concerned about the technique than getting the color perfect at this point. Elizabeth and I have made a packed that niethere one of can leave now without the other one coming along. That way we only have to buy the color and the other one can do the highlights for free.
A fun hobby and a great way to save bukoo (sp?) bucks!

I used to have rainbow bright curtains--rainbows all over my room. Loved it.
I haven't had the guts to try highlights or lowlights or anything like that since my disaster with Sun-In in 7th grade. My 7th grade history teacher asked me, "Am I going to have to get used to this?" when I came in with my bright orange hair. I think I used the whole bottle, thinking "it's not working!"...it worked alright...
It sounds like yours probably looks good--definitely a skill! I always feel bad when I see women who look like cheetahs.
(By the way, "bukoo" is a french word spelled beaucoup. It means "a lot". J'adore parler francais! Et ca me fait beaucoup de plaisir que tu aimes les mots francais.)

Just to comfort you, Jackie... sun-in turning your hair orage would have been the appropriate reaction, given it isn't stronger than to lift past the first shade or two of color... which would make your hair look bright orange..... I think they always use really blonde girls for it because they always turn that natural white blonde or buttery color that people like.

Yeah, I used sun in too...in 7th grade. Must be something about that age. Nasty orange/yellow hair was not a good look for me :-)
