Love Words

These are some of my favorites. I hope you like them, too.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines..."
-Sonnet 18 (the lines I like, anyway.) Willam Shakespeare

"These days, everybody speaks of love so loud.
They shout, as if love were someting owed them,
like something they can order around-
like something that comes when called."
-All is Quiet, Kurt Elling

"Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions."
1 John 3:18

"As virtuous men pass mildly away,
And whisper to the souls, to go,
Whilst some of their sad friends do say,
The breath goes now, and some say, no;

So let us melt, and make no noise,
To tear-floods, nor sigh-tempests move,
T'were prophanation of our joys
To tell the layetie our love."
-A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, Quatrain I&II, John Donne

You love her

But she loves him

And he loves somebody else

You just can't win

And so it goes

Till the day you die

This thing they call love

It's gonna make you cry

I've had the blues

The reds and the pinks

One thing for sure

Love stinks.

Be good
and you will be lonesome
