the glory line and the gory line
so i had typed us this huge entry and then alisa's puter died, entry gone. so no promises on how much ambition i'll have the second time around
here we are in chi-town. it has been a whirlwind thats for sure. any of you that talk to pat sokoll a lot know he talks about how life has its glory line and its gory line, well that funs true as true for the start of SALT. coming out here got really tough in the end, all of my wanted to bail in a lot of ways. but God reminded me:
Heb 10:35-36 So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded. you need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
for months we had been praying that God would get everyone jobs within this first week. humbled i had to admit to paul the other day that i hadnt really believed it would happen, but sure enough God has blown our minds and four out of five had jobs by wednesday! and heather got one already and she isn't even here yet and today alisa got a job meaning, every single person has a job and it has been only one week! God is so amazing guys.
another good one: Heb 10:23
without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep His promise
thats the glory, heres the gory for me...my job is really hard. the work environment isn't the most pleasant and i know it is going to be a long hard trial this summer. who was i kidding thinking my job was going to be all fun and games this summer? i was so graciously reminded by god that he is more interested in my character than my comfort. chris biang was joking with me about how it had been too easy for us, all finding jobs, where was the trials? well here they come, and i also was very convicted that i need to learn how to not grumble about it this summer. boo
lots of trials, it begins. but man have we had fun too already and really seen the hand of God clearly in our own lives and the lives around us. i wished i didn't feel so overwhelmed trying to sum it all up in one entry, ill do better posting more often again.
quick funny highlight story: so amy barrett and alisa and i are coming home exhausted and hungry from walking about a thousand miles looking for jobs all day and we try to shortcut our way back to our house. we somehow managed to get ourselves locked inside a random courtyard, thats right inside, thought we were going to have to climb a fence out, on day two! good times good times.

When I'm typing a huge entry, I usually do it in Word first, for spell check, and to save it incase the system pukes.
Thanks for sharing the story though :) Good to hear from you again ;)
