maybe it will storm tonight...

so lately there have been dang amazing storms here and i just feel the need to share with you all how much i absolutely love them! words cannot even express it. now, i know not all agree with my perspective. dan you hate to get wet and well poor elizabeth, i am so sorry, but for the rest of us it is just plain delightful. i guess my obsession stems from what a mystery storms are to me, it makes them magical and well let’s face it, romantic.
the other night the lightening was non-stop, flickering constantly like a laser show or something. we girls were driving back from a visit to elizabeth and DQ just soaking it up. the thunder was so loud our windows were shaking. oh how it makes me so excited, like a little kid! the sky was honestly breathtaking. we were going to all go out in becky's truck, case informed us "step #1: put on your swimsuits," but we all got distracted and so goes the story.
but big props to my girl tammy 'cause she and i did run up and down the street barefoot in the rain trying to get the best view, might be one of my favorite things. yup just might be

earlier today as I was diligently working I was rudely (read pleasently) distracted from my work by a huge boom of thunder, I preceded to run to the window and long to be out in it running around in the torrential downpour. Simply soaking up the wonder and power that shows me every time a thunder storm rolls in. Just thought you would like to know that we got storms here too. Oh yeah and we went to the beach yesterday too.

okay, so one thing about running up and down Hunt St. barefoot...have you paid ANY attention to the broken beer bottles everywhere?? Gross, they could end up in your feet if you're not careful.

oh angie (aka mom) the bottles washed away in the rivers running down the hill, our running about was harmless (though we were nearly hit by speeding cars down hayward several times)

I love the storms too . . . except when you have already gone to bed and they turn the power off (thus my alarm clock!!).

Every day I am at work and I think I hear thunder, but, sigh, I am disappointed when I remember that it is only the EL.

Angie is not being mom, I am guessing she is just concerned for your safety, and doesn't want to have to go into the emergency room with you when you slice your foot open. And I am similarly concerned.

Also, I was one of the "speeding cars" that almost hit you and Tammy the other night.

i had a similar experience just this morning mike, i got all wound up and excited cause i heard thunder, but then Lorry informed me it was just the Brugger's truck out back, so disappointing

No Matt, definitely being a mom on this one...but I don't so much care. Oh well.

i'm totally with angie on this one...being a mom is cool! :) i don't mind storms as long as they don't have huge cracks of thunder in the middle of the night. that's when i get scared and tell my roomates that i'm gonna jump in bed with them!:)

Ok, this might be a bit late in the game, but I LOVE storms too! I don't like being cold though, so running around in the rain, unless it's really warm out, is not as appealing to me...but don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it! I'd probably at least were flip-flops though to avoid any larger chunks of broken glass that didn't get washed away in the gushing rivers of Hunt St.

My favorite part is the lightning too. Dave and I watched a storm roll in the other night from a great viewpoint north of Ames...it had a lot of lightning... don't remember what day it was...maybe it was the same one? Either way, it was amazing.
