Halloween Stories

Well everybody is fired up about pumpkins. So I was wondering about good halloween stories about when we went out trick or treating. Several memorable times involved my trick or treating with my home made paint bomb. It was a common thing for older kids to go out with their cars, stop us, and try to steal our candy. The afternoon before the big candy haul, I prepared a paint bomb, of a peanut butter jar, screw lid type and a mix of various oil based paints. I put it in my bag for defense. Later that evening I was accosted by some guys, I pulled out my jar and said, Sure take my candy but your car isn't going to look so hot. For some reason they decided to drive on. A story from the annuals of Halloween in the suburbs.

Rolling old tires down the (only!)hill on Main Stree, Union, Iowa. Then, egging the (only!) cop's car, when he drove up to see what was happening. We also climbed the tower near our very dinky Town Hall, and held a flashlight on the photocell, until all the street lights turned off. We were bad boys.

I never really did anything bad on halloween, just stupid, like not wearing a long sleeve jacket just to prove I could do it. That year it was very windy and very cold. Stupid.
