Biang Pumpkin Hunt

Sunday the whole Biang crew (including Mike) searched for a rural pumpkin stand. We had a total of two hours before we had to be back for Tim's job. The quest ended up in Hinckley Illinois, about 20 miles west of our house. There we found a great little stand with huge pumpkins for 1-5$. The crew all choosing their favorites in anticipation of the annual pumpkin carving fest to be held soon. Maybe we will be able to get some phots of the carved globes for this ALOG.

I don't think Grandma will ever want to come on one of our "quests" again.

I think you're absolutely right. Christine was just uncontrollable. If I was on the same bench with her, she would have had a walloping. Unfortunately, I had to sit on the floor due to the lack of seats in our van. I dearly miss our 15 seater....

the trip was all fine and good until Bob started threatening Grandma...

I just wish we had done a better job of raising our children. Hearing about the uncontrollable daughter and Grandma threatening son makes me almost inconsolable.

Let me say how touched I am anytime a Biang actually updates their blog. It brings tears to my eyes.

Nancy and I recently found a stand just outside of Boone (small nearby town) where they were selling big pumpkins for $1, and smaller ones for 50cents. It was amazing. We bought four (though, after the homecoming game this last weekend, one was missing (we live across the street from the stadium)).

well, we only have one lonely pumpkin on our porch. the crop here in michigan wasn't too good and the guy down the road who usually has wagonloads, posted a sign "No Pumpkins This Year" Alas.

Oh, by the way...

In my defense, I would like to say that I was NOT threatening my grandmother. In fact, it seemed more like my FATHER threatening ME!

Was that before or after Mike started going after them with the meat tenderizer?
