We've been doing some thinking about how to be able to keep improving the services here at NotOurHome.com and the issue has always been one of time and money. Though most of you out there haven't complained of needs for improvements and continue to post, we aren't able to make the service as attractive or available for new users who are going on to other fine services like blogger or Wordpress.com.

We have thought about the idea of placing relatively non-annoying Google ads somewhere on each notourhome.com site so as to raise a little funding for the improving of our services. You can see some sample possibilities here.

I am wondering if there would be a massive outcry against such activity? Let me know what you think.

Hi Everyone! I am going to start keeping track of maintenance and issues with the NotOurHome.com blog system. If you have a blog on the NotOurHome.com system, you probably got an E-mail about this post. Anytime I update this blog with an important announcement about the service or otherwise, you'll get an E-mail about it. I hope that's okay. If not.. um... too bad ;-).

I hope you have been enjoying your blog so far, we have done a couple of things to improve the service.

1) Created this blog as a place for you to lodge requests and complaints, and hear about what's going on. Basically as a way for Russ and I to communicate with all you authors and contributers.

2) Upgraded the movabletype software. This should improve performance, maintainability, and spam protection, as well as make the templates a heck of a lot cooler. If you'd like one of the spiffy new designs applied to your blog, I'd be happy to for a small donation ($5-$10 or whatever...).

3) Donation system. This is a free service, run in our spare time, on some spare hardware. We'd like to improve things, but quite frankly, can't afford to. Any donations to the blog (see the right sidebar on the main page...) help us to be able to improve the service and keep you guys up and running. It's not mandatory, we are still glad to provide the service, just thought we'd mention it.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you with your Blog.
